Georgia Tech Cyber Security - Phish Bowl

The Phish Bowl is a list of recent email messages that were reported to GT Cyber Security and confirmed to be a widespread phishing message (or was errantly reported as a phishing message and is actually a legitimate email).

If you have received any of the messages listed below as a confirmed phishing email, do not follow the link(s) in the message; simply delete it. If you have already fallen for one of the messages listed below, please contact your department's CSR or, if you are a student, the OIT TSC.

Phishing Message

Description:

The sender is threatening that they have compromised your browser and possess videos of you in compromising situations. In addition, the sender is threatening that they have your password and all of your personal contacts. The password(s) provided are likely published on the internet and the sender is using social engineering and fear to illicit money. If you receive this email, please immediately change your account password and any other accounts that may use a variation of the password.

The emails listed on this site are only those that are reported to GT Cyber Security as phishing. You may likely receive phishing email messages that are not listed here; you should learn to identify phish emails and how to report them to GT Cyber Security (see links above).
You may recieve a phishing message whose text matches an example listed here, but has a different web link (that is a different phishing URL). Phishers will sometimes send out the same message to different email addresses, varying the url between a set of different phishing URLs.
