Georgia Tech Cyber Security - Phish Bowl

The Phish Bowl is a list of recent email messages that were reported to GT Cyber Security and confirmed to be a widespread phishing message (or was errantly reported as a phishing message and is actually a legitimate email).

If you have received any of the messages listed below as a confirmed phishing email, do not follow the link(s) in the message; simply delete it. If you have already fallen for one of the messages listed below, please contact your department's CSR or, if you are a student, the OIT TSC.

Phishing Message

Description:

Subj: Available / Urgent Request The attacker will impersonate someone you know or a Department Head. Always check the email address you received the email from (should only be @GATECH.EDU, never GMAIL or MY.com etc..) The attacker will convey a sense of urgency or that they're in a meeting so they can't get to the phone for you to verify the legitimacy of this request. RESULT: Attacker will ALMOST ALWAYS ASK FOR GIFT-CARDS, because they can't be tracked or reimbursed.

The emails listed on this site are only those that are reported to GT Cyber Security as phishing. You may likely receive phishing email messages that are not listed here; you should learn to identify phish emails and how to report them to GT Cyber Security (see links above).
You may recieve a phishing message whose text matches an example listed here, but has a different web link (that is a different phishing URL). Phishers will sometimes send out the same message to different email addresses, varying the url between a set of different phishing URLs.
